1931 American Austin Roadster

1931 American Austin Roadster

Description

The Austin American was a British-American hybrid of sorts. Designed by Alexis de Sakhnoffsky for Austin of England, the American versions were manufactured in Butler, Pennsylvania from 1930 to 1935. Two years after folding, the company came back in 1937 as American Bantam, and between 1938 and 1940, it produced some 6,000 automobiles, including the world's first jeep. The Roadster, of which some 1,500 were built, was only produced from 1931 to 1935.
