1962 was the first year for the Gran Turismo Hawk which lasted only 3 years until Studebaker went out of business in 1964. Just 8388 GT Hawks were made in '62 at a base cost of $3100. The first year '62s rarely come up for sale while the 63's are far more common.
The engine is the original matching #s Studebaker 289ci engine with factory Borg Warner T10 4speed transmission, Twin Traction (TT) option (posi-rear) and dual exhaust. Driving is an absolute pleasure in every way. Step on the gas and you will feel the amazing power of her engine. "Impressive" to say the least!
The 4 speed shifts perfectly. This car starts instantly, drives without a sound and stops as she should. The car features power steering & power brakes and more. The engine is highly detailed to the point where you can eat off of it.
Factory Ermine White paint is absolutely beautiful. It shines bright and looks amazing. It is dent free and has barely a scratch. Body is pin straight and 100% rust free. This car is bondo-free and shows no evidence of ever being in an accident or even dented, anywhere, ever! Chrome and trim are as good as it gets with no fading, hazing or pitting at all. It is as good as new everywhere you look. Even the undercarriage is immaculate!
Interior is 100% original and immaculate in every respect. Carpet is perfect. Leather seating is in near perfect condition for being completely original and over 50 years old. There are some hairline wrinkles but nothing even close to a tear or open crack. (Just look at the photos) Everything is in great working order including the factory tach, radio, signals, lights in & out etc. Seatbelts have been added for safety.
